Minutes of the meeting held on 20 May 2026

During the Public Forum:

 

1. A resident brought their concerns regarding S26/0582 and the proposed change of use. It was discussed at length and documents were left with the Councillors.

2. A resident inquired about how to become a Cllr on the CBPC. The Chair sought clarity regarding the legibility of the the resident and after asked the Clerk to add this to the next Agenda of the June meeting.

Vice-Chair regarding Western Marsh extension.

Proposed by Cllr Sismey Dugmore, seconded by Cllr Morrow, all in favour.

  1. County Council matters

Cllr C Vernon - ( NB: I am awaiting email to confirm these details)

Including: Fire, Mental Health Support, the roll out of Food Waste collection. There was a report of injury to 2 residents on Water Lane which LCC are looking into, the siting of the grit bin on Glen Road, the ‘Children - Slow’ sign on the bus shelter on Station Road and the Western Marsh extension consultation from August.

 

  1. District Council matters

Cllr P Robins -  ( NB: I am awaiting email to confirm these details)

Provision of a wheelie bin for the cemetery and fortnightly collection, access improvement on the pathway on Glen Road, more CCTV to counter fly-tipping and a new depot at Turnpike Close.

 

  1. Planning issues - verbal report from the Planning Working Group

a) Application S26/0838 Tree work. No comment.

b) Update S25/1902 - 3 new homes. Appeal by representation with a final submission in June.

 

  1. Amenities Working Group report.

    Village signs - a cost of £162 to advise before submitting an application.  Approved.

Condition of the steps on Upper Green - report to Fix My Street.

Cllr Hayward not present.

CBPC account with Unity Trust Bank - account management forms submitted.

 

  1. Councillors’ verbal reports

Cllr Sismey-Durrant offered volunteers possibly available through MoJ programme. The ‘No Water’ sign in the cemetery needs realignment as it is not possible to view when approaching the standpipe.

Cllr Dugmore - a request from the Clerk concerning a PO Box at the Community Shop would not meet the requirement regarding the direct delivery of sensitive documents.
