During the Public Forum a member of the public provided information regarding the brown road signs,
which they ascertained were need installed by SKDC, with one being recommended by ROSPA and
handed over several H-viz jackets, which the PC thanked them for.Access and Rights of Way around the
castle mound was also discussed as were the number of DMOs in LCC.
1. Declarations of interest
Cllr Mclaughlin registered the fact her and the interim clerk were husband and wife and regarding the
Western Power line extension there was an interest.
2. Approve minutes
The record of the meeting held on 18 February 2026 was approved by the Chair. Proposed by Cllr
Hayward, seconded by Cllr Morrow. All in favour.
3. Matters arising
Appointment of Clerk.The Chair asked Cllrs to vote in favour of appointing Mr Ben Cullis the Clerk,
which they duly did.
4. District Council matters
Cllr Robins:
Help with cost of heating oil, with details of available funds soon to be announced.
Boiler upgrade scheme
SK Awards - nominations for Community Groups welcome
Cllr Robins stated she’d act on the receipt of the petition from residents of Glen Road concerning
access and parking issues raised in previous meeting (18 th February).
5. County Council matters
None
6. Planning issues - verbal report from the Planning Working Group
S26/0430 Rectory Farm - Removal of 5x conifers No comment recommended
S26/0213 5 Castlegate - extension, revisited. Positive response passed unanimously.
No.9 Pinfold Road - concern over state of ground after removal of stored materials. Question of
whether footpath on left hand-side is blocked?
7. Community Speed Watch
Deferred to next meeting.
8. Amenities Working Group report.
Cllr Hayward:
Debris left in cemetery and no provision for a bin.
Cllr McLaughlin suggested volunteer litter pick to tackle build up of rubbish with SKDC provided bags
being left at the bin next to the bus shelter.
Bus shelter repaired on Station Road
Bus shelter opposite the Castle pub need for quote to repair roof.
Pond -no development regarding water course. Volunteer ‘water warden’ required. Flood Risk
Scheme needed updating with a further check six months later.
Rec ground - repair to castle equipment
The Chair suggested an inspection to group remedial works together for a contractor to quote for.
9. Rights of Way
Cllr Sismey-Durrant reported need for reinstatement of signage on Cow Pasture Lane. An electric
fence needing correct signage.
10. Burial Committee matters
No report.

The Chair: £5K available for projects - sluice, bus shelters, water pump (heritage grant), tree survey

Litter pick 11 th April with information going to Glenside News. Pickers would be sourced.
