  1. Declarations of interest

None

  1. Approve minutes

The record of the meeting held on 18th March 2026 was approved by the Chair. Proposed by Cllr Hayward, seconded by Cllr Morrow. All in favour.

  1. Matters arising

    None .

4. District Council matters

The Chair noted that pot-hole repairs had been carried out in the village.

  1. County Council matters

Cllrs noted that a wheelie bin and supply of rubbish bags had been offered by Cllr Robins.

  1. Planning issues - verbal report from the Planning Working Group

Decision regarding 26/0213 - Approved

  1.  Community Speed Watch
  2. Cllr Mclaughlin confirmed the need for another volunteer to co-ordinate this .
  3. Amenities Working Group report.

Cllr Hayward:

The decision to remove the water butt from the cemetery was reviewed and the councillors all agreed it is still the correct decision.

Scheme needed updating with a  further check six months later.

Repairs carried out to Station Road bus-stop

Grass cutting - the year’s schedule is underway.

Sign post repairs - a quote of £1925 by Richard Pyne for base of village sign had been provided. A quote of £606, using cheaper material was also found. Regardless of which used, permissions would need to be sought. A vote was carried 6:0 in favour of the more expensive quote and Cllr Mclaughlin will email planners.

Duck pond railings - Two quotes, one for £865, one for £320. The cheaper one won the contract.

SKDC query regarding village signage - work is being collated.

Sign cleaning campaign - the village gates and neighbouring signs have been cleaned by Cllr Mclaughlin and the Clerk.

  1. Rights of Way

Cllr Sismey-Durrant reported need the signage on Cow Pasture Lane had been repaired.

  1. Burial Committee matters

Concern over accuracy of the burial records.

  1. Correspondence

Alicia Kearns MP had been spoken to whilst canvassing in the village regarding attending a meeting of the CBPC at her convenience.

Accounts

The Chair: £18,559 received. End of year  balance of £19,597.

Potential to earn £400 p.a. on a balance of £20,000 via an interest paying account with Unity Bank.

Ask the CB Village Stores if a PO Box would be possible - to be used by the Clerk.
