Cemetery

Castle Bytham Cemetery lies at the southern end of Church Lane, off the High Street. It can be accessed via the single track Church Lane or the footpath from Cumberland Gardens, but please note there is no turning space at the cemetery gates.

The cemetery covers 1.2 acres (around 5000 square metres) and has a boundary of 300 metres.  A public footpath, part of the Danelaw Way, skirts the eastern end of the cemetery and is also on Parish Council land.  The cemetery began operating in 1898 and is approximately 60% occupied.  Although there have been many improvements on the site in recent years the ground itself needs attention and care should be taken when leaving the footpaths.
